UK sensation Jimothy Lacoste (also known as Timmy) is currently the name on everyone’s lips. With his unique rap-style, and incredible viral visuals, Jimothy hails from Camden Town and speaks openly and honestly about his experiences and thoughts on emotions, culture, and the environment around him.
In the wake of his debut and self-curated Boiler Room (Cuco, Lancey Foux, Amal Omari and Oneman) and with support from the likes of Dazed and Confused, i-D, Noisey, The Fader and more - Jimothy has mastered the art of creating truly addictive music. His new single “Fashion” speaks on the ability to morph into another character through the clothes we choose to wear; an almost childhood desire to dress up and have fun. “’I’ve always dressed really smart. Some people got it some people didn’t.”
The slick studio-filmed visual compliments the singles’ front facing notion of appearing to be something you’re not; whilst adopting a mindset of the laws of attraction. Jimothy sings in front of a Bentley, a zebra, and two gorgeous models – playing into the idea that he’s a “little millionaire.”
With a back catalogue of tracks already available online, fan favourites have generated in the form of “I Can Speak Spanish”, “Subway System”, “Getting Busy” and “Future Bae”; but all of Jimothy’s music has been quietly building hundreds of thousands of views, and earning him the nod of approval from names such as Stormzy and Giggs, DJ Semtex, MistaJam and more. Having played numerous festival dates this Summer 2018, Jimothy found himself performing to over 10,000 people at Reading & Leeds, and travelling across Europe with his craft.
A visual artist, Jimothy’s videos are an adventure, seeing him dancing on top of bus stops, climbing lampposts, chilling with Zebras and choreographing grandmas. As Jimothy says himself “I take the music very seriously, I just don’t take myself too seriously.”
